Dietary management and tube feeding

It includes evaluation of a patient’s nutritional status, and providing appropriate nutritional support for patients with complications from conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, and cancer that prevents them from receiving adequate nutrition. Nutritional therapy as a component of medical care may help patients recover more quickly and reduce hospitalization time.

Nutritional Therapy as a component of medical treatment provides required nutrition in different ways:

Parenterally (intravenously) which for patients who are unable to eat due to illness, bowel abnormality, or

   removal of these organs.

Enterally which provided by a tube placed in the nose, the stomach, or the small intestine.
